Smartphones and tablets hinder learning when used in educational settings for children younger than 9 years old.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree? Disagree? Why? Why not? Remember, this isn't talking about personal devices, it's talking about devices that are used in the classroom.
i disagree, you get the kids attention more with electronics than just making them sit there and listen to you talk about something some of them could careless about
I disagree, if they use the electronics in a way that it teaches them, it would be fine. Some kids might be able to learn better with electronics because they cant pay attention to somebody talking.
I disagree, technology has been proven to stimulate the learning part of our brains, we adapt to the machine as well as it adapts to us.
i agree with you
I agree, kids might try to be sneaky and play games on the device instead of what they are supposed to be doing. whistle
I disagree. They're some educational apps and games that actually get the kids attention by teaching them various skills and at the same time being actually entertaining. Instead of having to just sit down and listen to an adult, they can engage in various fun activities through the usage of electronics.
I disagree because it gives kids the ability to access a wide array of knowledge
I disagre, kids could use it to learn so many things. It's just the type of discipline their parents give them on how long they can stay on it. But i think it is a learning experience for them.
I disagree, because it can cuase them to be a slow learner.
i disagree cause they would not be learning cause they would get distracted to fast
i disagree, you get the kids attention more with electronics than just making them sit there and yell at them
I disagree, because there some educational websites and apps that could help younger kids learn things in a fun ways for example abc mouse.com. And little kids usually more paid attention and focus more when having electronics with them.
i agree, beacuse if they got a phone they would always be on it watching tik tok or watching youtube or playing games.
I would disagree, using electronics in a healthy and educational manner would not hinder their learning capabilities, but it would do the opposite, it would improve their learning capabilities by a significant amount.
While I do agree that technology can be beneficial to learning, it is also a distraction and is often times used for the wrong purposes. It also makes it easier to cheat on classwork because there is so much information available on the internet.
I mostly agree with this statement, yes educational tablets have been proven to help and improve learning across the board. But there is still a risk that the kids might be doing something that's not allowed, and some kids might learn differently then others, so the tablets might be more of a problem for those students.
i disagree, using electronics before the age if used in a healthy manor it can benefit the kid in many ways, by expanding his or her knowledge in other areas faster and overall helping them.
I disagree, i think its easier to learn with electronics than it is just sitting in class. It gets boring just sitting there and just listening to some one ramble when i rather learn from a computer or hands on.
i agree
i disagree, in a educational environment it can help the kid by letting him expand his knowledge faster, and letting him see and learn overall new things.
i agree with you
Electronics don't hinder a childs learning. If it's on educational settings then the child will be using electronincs like computers and tablets in a way that helps them learn.
i disagree cause in a educational environmnet it can help the kids
In most cases I would agree but in modern society this seems like a more faster and efficient way to learn things especially if children get distracted very easily this could be a way to keep there attention so I disagree with technology causing distractions to younger learners.
I believe that using technology can be good and bad. Some children may learn better in different settings like the tablet or smartphone, but there will often be times that they will not be allowed to use technology and they would not know what to do.
I disagree, if they use the electronics in a way that it teaches them, it would be fine. Some kids might be able to learn better with electronics because they cant pay attention to somebody talking and you get the kids attention more with electronics than just making them sit there and yell at them
I believe that this is true
I disagree kids should be able to be on electronics because it helps them on their education. But some parents can limit on the time their kids can be on the tablet.
I disagree with this because me and my brother at the age of 9 and on all we did is and we are both straight A students i believe it advance your learning.
I disagree,a kid at nine years old. Has such a short attention span to books and people talking. Even us as older kids we have computers,Although, everything may be blocked but once we got over that using google classroom and other educational outlets seems like a fun alternative.
I agree, kids below the age of 9 should be taught in ways other than technology. Such as hands on activities or field trips.
Heavily agree, most kids are corrupted by the clout based on media which gets their attention and makes them follow in the wrong footsteps
hey this might be a copy and paste but i accidentally posted on another guys profile. Heavily agree, most kids are corrupted by the clout based on media which gets their attention and makes them follow in the wrong footsteps
I disagree, technology when used in educational places can catch a child's attention, causing them to learn far more. This'll also assist them in the future, where with the modernization of jobs, new technology also inserts itself into everyday life.
I agree, because kids under the age of 9 they would see things that they shouldn't see.
I agree, smartphones and tablets can be a distraction if used in the wrong way. Don't get me wrong tablets and smartphones are a good way to learn but I don't believe they are a good alternative. It makes kids rely too much on their phones and instead of asking people questions they will ask their phones for the answers. They may gain the habit of looking it up answers on the phone without trying to think about it. There is also something about reading an actual book. reading a book on a tablet can strain and damage your eyes after a while.
I disagree, if used wisely the web has many educational sources that your child learns day by day in class. It's not all distraction, while having the power of what your child does. You can always offer your kids a treat like going on the web after learning a subject or studying.
I disagree, in order to keep a child entertained and to learn at the same time is a difficult situation. So in this case an electronic device will provide the child the fun and excitement to keep on learning. There's a lot of great advanced programs are fun and made for children that enjoy games and learning.
I disagree, some children learn better on electronics.
i agree, kids might try to be sneaky and play games on the device instead of what they are supposed to be doing.
Disagreed, children are more attracted to electronics and if being on a smart phone with learning features it'll interest them.
I think it can help kids learn if they are monitored and given instruction but it should be not be used as a babysitter or to keep the kids occupied. It can help them learn hand eye coordination and with solving problems. So I guess I think it can be helpful but it should be limited and done with instruction from an adult or teacher.
Well, I guess now that we're all at home, and the only way we have to access school is through an electronic device...oh the irony of this whole discussion now! Its funny how life works sometimes!
I disagree, there are educational programs that help you understand things better.
I disagree, electronic devices have been shown to help keep students engaged and focused in a classroom environment
Electronics don't hinder a childs learning, kids can use education apps to learn.
well it depends for the special children its been proven to help them then normal learning. but for the regular ones its not a good idea to do. i know i was always fidiling with the differnt seatings when i was givin my first chromebook

I disagree with this because brighter images and more interaction with technology make kids focus. It also makes them more connected with the class. When technology pushes kids to interact and click on buttons and stuff and they start participating, their brains work more thus retaining more information and knowledge.
