In this article Microsoft explains how firmware attacks are on the rise. "Microsoft's inaugural Security Signals report for March 2021 shows that 80% of enterprises have experienced one firmware attack during the past two years, but less than a third of security budgets are dedicated to protecting firmware." This is concerning because of the low budget put towards protecting firmware.

For Microsoft to be a very big company, it doesn't make sense to why they put low effort to trying to protect their customer's and their own devices. I feel like if they cared more about the customers and not the money, then the issue would be less prevalent.
