we have phrases like "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" and "think before you speak" for a reason. I was brought up with the phrases "do unto others are you would have them do unto you" and "people who live in glass houses should throw stones", words hurt. a lot. you never know what that person has been through and what they're dealing with.
